Tampa General Hospital taps Palantir for care coordination AI software – Tampa Bay Business & Wealth – TBBW

Tampa General Hospital has selected Palantir Technologies (PLTR) to provide its artificial intelligence platform for care coordination and system workflow automation.

Palantir is a leading AI system provider in the health care sector. Its platform will securely encode TGH’s domain, real-time situational awareness and language models into decision-support tools for eligibility determination and to prioritize workflows for frontline teams, throughout the hospital’s care operations.

The tool will allow TGH to ensure patients are receiving the correct care as quickly and safely as possible, through the new Hospital Sync application from Palantir which aims to set the standard for care coordination nationwide.

“We are on a mission to transform health care through innovation, and Palantir’s technology platforms enable us to leverage data to improve quality and strengthen our operations,” TGH President and CEO John Couris said. “Less time waiting for placement and a reduced length of stay does not just enhance the patient experience, it gives us an opportunity to treat more patients that need care. These improvements, powered by data and technology, contribute to better and more robust treatment plans which, in turn, can lead to better patient outcomes.”

TGH has been partnering with Palantir since 2021, when the hospital began utilizing its Foundry software developed to revolutionize health care management, optimize operational efficiency and enhance patient outcomes. The hospital has expanded its use of the software across numerous cases across its health care system, cutting by 83% the amount of time required to place patients. The software has also led to a 30% decrease in the mean length of stay for sepsis patients.

“Our partnership is proving that software is vital for overcoming many of the most pressing healthcare challenges that we collectively face,” Palantir co-founder and CEO Alex Karp said. “Tampa General has become an industry leader in leveraging technology to deliver even further improvements in patient care.”
