Broomfield police, KIA, Flatiron Crossing Mall and the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority are sponsoring a free anti-theft software upgrade event for KIA car owners 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the Flatiron Crossing Mall, according to a press release.

Technicians will be at the mall to install the software. No appointment is needed. To find out if your vehicle is eligible, you can visit KIA’s Customer Care Center website and enter your VIN number. Those not eligible for the upgrade can receive free steering wheel locks. Broomfield police will also be at the event to hand out educational materials on vehicle theft and safety, the release said.
