“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” released a new trailer on Thursday depicting parts of the plot for the new movie. Paying homage to the original “Beetlejuice” film, it shows Winona Ryder, who is reprising her role as Lydia Deetz, explaining to her daughter, played by Jenna Ortega, who Beetlejuice is and how he tormented Lydia as a teenager. Ortega, who does not believe her mother’s story, says Beetlejuice’s name three times and Beetlejuice, who Michael Keaton reprises, is released from his prison. The trailer then depicts scenes from the new movie with Beetlejuice once again tormenting the Deetz family.Alongside Ryder and Keaton, Catherine O’Hara is reprising her role as Delia Deetz. It is still unknown if Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis will reprise their roles after they starred in the first one.Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe and Justin Theroux are also joining the cast.Tim Burton has returned to direct the sequel 36 years after the original “Beetlejuice.”The film will be released in theaters on Sept. 6.
